Security & customs
Schiphol uses decentralized security at each gate rather than one central checkpoint, so allow time after passport control. EU/EEA/Swiss passport holders and many ePassport visitors aged 12+ can use the automated Privium/self-service eGates. Standard EU 100ml liquid rules apply, and duty-free allowances apply only when arriving from outside the EU.
Travel tips
The airport has a branch of the Rijksmuseum for free art viewing. Casino is the only airport casino in the Netherlands.
