Overview

Stockholm Arlanda is Sweden's main international airport, located 40km north of the city centre. A large, well-organized airport with four terminals, efficient and sustainable operations (targeting fossil fuel-free by 2030), and an excellent Arlanda Express rail link into central Stockholm.

Transport to city center

Arlanda Express to Stockholm Central (18 min, SEK 299 — fastest but pricier). SL/UL commuter train Pendeltåg to Stockholm Central (40 min, SEK 160 with access fee). Flybussarna coach service (45–60 min, SEK 119). Taxi: SEK 500–700, 40–60 min (beware overcharging — use Taxi Stockholm or Cabify app).

Wi-Fi

Free unlimited WiFi throughout Arlanda — connect to the airport network; no time limit.

Lounges

SAS Business Lounge (multiple, Priority Pass eligible), Aspire Lounge, and Sky Lounge. The SAS lounges at Arlanda are among Scandinavia's best.

Security & customs

EU/EEA passport holders and registered ePassport travelers can use the automated eGates. Standard EU 100ml liquid limits apply at security. Sweden is in the Schengen Area, so there are no border checks on flights to/from other Schengen countries; duty-free allowances apply only for non-EU arrivals.

Travel tips

The Arlanda Express is time-efficient but expensive — the commuter train is a good cost-saving alternative. Flying SAS or Scandinavian airlines into Terminal 5 gives access to their flagship lounge. The airport has good Swedish design/handicraft shops for last-minute gifts.
