Overview

The world's best-connected airport — London's Heathrow handles more international passengers than any other airport globally. 5 terminals, impeccably run.

Transport to city center

Heathrow Express to Paddington: 15 min, £25 (book online for £5.50). Elizabeth Line: ~45 min, £12.80. Taxis: £50-80.

Wi-Fi

Free unlimited WiFi at Heathrow — connect to '_Heathrow Wi-Fi'; no time limit.

Lounges

British Airways Galleries First/Club, Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, Qantas First Lounge, multiple alliance lounges.

Security & customs

UK now allows eligible ePassport holders from many countries to use the automated eGates aged 10+. Standard 100ml liquid rules still apply at most security lanes despite upgrades. Confirm your terminal in advance (T2–T5 are far apart), arrive early as security queues can be long, and claim VAT-free shopping rules no longer apply for departing visitors.

Travel tips

T5 is the best terminal — fast, efficient, great lounges. The Elizabeth Line is now the best value transport option.
