Overview

Tocumen International Airport is the largest airport in Panama and one of the most important connecting hubs in Latin America. It is the primary hub for Copa Airlines, linking destinations across the Americas. Often called the 'Hub of the Americas,' it handles tens of millions of passengers a year.

Transport to city center

Official taxis and ride-hailing apps connect the airport to Panama City, and the Metro Bus and metro line extension provide public transport links. The drive downtown takes around 30-40 minutes.

Wi-Fi

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout both terminals.

Lounges

Numerous lounges, including the Copa Club and independent lounges, are spread across both terminals.

Security & customs

Connecting passengers may need to clear security again between terminals; immigration lines can be long when multiple flights arrive together.

Travel tips

As a major connecting hub, transfer times between gates can be long, so check your boarding pass and allow time. Agree on taxi fares in advance or use a metered ride app.
