Overview

New Chitose Airport is the main airport serving Sapporo and the gateway to Hokkaido. It is one of Japan's busiest airports, especially in winter, with extensive domestic and growing international service.

The airport has a large domestic terminal and a connected international terminal, packed with shops and dining.

Transport to city center

JR rapid trains connect the airport directly to Sapporo station in around 40 minutes, with buses also available.
