Overview

Frankfurt Airport is Germany's largest and busiest airport and one of the most important aviation hubs in the world. It is the main hub for Lufthansa and Star Alliance, with an enormous network of intercontinental routes. It is also a major cargo hub.

Terminals

It has two large terminals (T1 and T2) connected by a shuttle and a Sky Line people mover, with a new Terminal 3 expanding capacity.

Transport to city center

Two railway stations on site offer S-Bahn services to Frankfurt's main station in about 15 minutes plus long-distance ICE trains, with taxis and buses also available.

Lounges

Numerous lounges operate, especially in Terminal 1, including Lufthansa First Class and Senator lounges.

Travel tips

Allow generous time for connections, as Frankfurt is large and security and passport queues can be long. Use the long-distance train station for fast onward travel across Germany.
