Overview

Hamburg Airport is the oldest airport in Germany still in operation and the main gateway to northern Germany. It serves a wide range of European destinations plus some long-haul routes. It is among the busiest airports in the country.

Terminals

Two adjacent terminals (T1 and T2) are connected by a central plaza (Airport Plaza) housing shops and check-in.

Transport to city center

The S-Bahn line S1 connects the airport directly to Hamburg's main station in about 25 minutes, with taxis and buses also available.

Lounges

Lounges are available airside, including Lufthansa and contract lounges.

Travel tips

The S-Bahn is the fastest and cheapest way into the city, running every few minutes. Both terminals share one plaza, so transfers between them are easy.
