Phuket International Airport (HKT)

Phuket, Thailand

Overview

Phuket International Airport is Thailand's second-busiest airport and the gateway to the country's largest island. It handles heavy domestic and international traffic, particularly leisure flights from across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. The airport is central to Phuket's role as a major beach resort destination.

Terminals

Terminal 1 handles international flights while Terminal 2 (X) serves domestic services, both within the same complex.

Transport to city center

Beaches and Phuket Town are reached by airport bus, minibus, metered taxi, or ride-hailing, with journeys ranging from 30 minutes to over an hour depending on destination. Smart buses run to Patong and the town.

Lounges

Several airline and pay-per-use lounges, including Coral and Miracle lounges, are available.

Travel tips

Use the airport bus or app-based transport to avoid overpriced taxis. The drive to popular beaches like Patong can take a while, so plan accordingly.
