Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport (LAD)

Overview

Luanda's airport is the main international gateway to Angola and the principal hub for TAAG Angola Airlines. A large new airport now handles the city's growing international and domestic traffic.

Terminals

The modern terminal separates international and domestic operations with extensive check-in and retail areas. The older Quatro de Fevereiro facility previously served the city.

Transport to city center

Taxis and hotel shuttles connect the airport to central Luanda, with travel times depending heavily on traffic. Arranging a transfer in advance is recommended.

Lounges

TAAG and premium pay-per-use lounges are available in the departures area.

Travel tips

Carry your visa and yellow fever certificate, and budget for relatively high local prices. Confirm transport arrangements before you arrive.

Airport Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is offered in the terminal, though coverage may be patchy.

Security and arrival

Immigration checks can be lengthy, so keep all entry documents ready. Declare large sums of currency to avoid issues at customs.
