Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport (MAD)
Madrid, Spain
Overview
Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas is Spain's largest and busiest airport and a major hub for Iberia and a key gateway between Europe and Latin America. It handles well over 60 million passengers a year. It is one of the most important airports in Europe.
Terminals
It has four passenger terminals (T1, T2, T3, and the large T4 with satellite T4S); T4 and T4S handle Iberia and oneworld flights and are connected by an automated people mover.
Transport to city center
Metro Line 8 and the Cercanías commuter train link the airport to the city center in about 25–40 minutes, alongside express buses and taxis with a fixed fare to central Madrid.
Lounges
Numerous lounges operate across the terminals, including Iberia Premium and Sala VIP lounges.
Travel tips
Allow extra time to transfer between distant terminals, especially between T4 and T1–T3. Use the fixed-fare official taxi for central Madrid to avoid surprises.
