Mexico City International Airport (Benito Juárez) (MEX)
Mexico City, Mexico
Overview
Latin America's busiest airport by passenger traffic, MEX sits just 5km east of the city centre. Two terminals handle a huge volume of domestic and international flights.
Terminals
T1 (most international and domestic) and T2 (Aeroméxico and SkyTeam). The terminals are far apart — an inter-terminal Aerotrén connects them (airside, ticketed passengers only).
Transport to city center
Authorized airport taxis (buy a fixed-price ticket inside): MXN 250–350. Metro Line 5 (Terminal Aérea) is cheap but not luggage-friendly. Rideshare pickup is at designated zones.
Lounges
Aeroméxico Salón Premier lounges, American Express Centurion Lounge (T1), and several Priority Pass options across both terminals.
Travel tips
Always use the official taxi ticket booths, never accept rides from touts. Allow extra time — security and immigration lines can be long. Confirm your terminal in advance.
