Overview

Alcantarí International Airport serves Sucre, the constitutional capital of Bolivia and a UNESCO World Heritage city. Opened in 2016, it replaced the older in-city airport and handles domestic flights. The airport is the gateway to the colonial heart of Bolivia.

Transport to city center

Official taxis and shared minibuses connect the airport to central Sucre, located some distance away. The drive into the city typically takes around 30-40 minutes.

The airport is well outside the city, so allow extra time for transfers. Sucre sits at altitude, so pace yourself on arrival.
