Berlin's long-awaited new airport finally opened in 2020, replacing the old Tegel and Schönefeld airports. Modern and efficient with one main terminal.

Transport to city center

S-Bahn S9 to Ostbahnhof/Alexanderplatz: 30 min, €3.80. FEX Express to Ostbahnhof: 30 min. Taxi: €40-60.

Security and arrival

EU/EEA passport holders and eligible ePassport travelers aged 12+ can use the EasyPASS automated eGates. Standard EU 100ml liquid rules apply at security. Germany is in Schengen, so intra-Schengen flights skip passport control; note the old Tegel (TXL) airport is closed — all flights now use BER.
