Armenia is a very affordable destination for international travelers, with Yerevan offering good value across accommodation, food, and transport compared to Western Europe or North America. Costs are driven primarily by accommodation choices and dining preferences, while local transport and street food remain exceptionally cheap. Wine, brandy, and local cuisine provide excellent value, making Armenia a rewarding destination for budget-conscious travelers.
Notes
Use minibuses (marshrutkas) and the Yerevan metro for extremely cheap city travel, and eat at local stolovaya-style canteens or market stalls to dramatically cut food costs. Booking accommodation in advance and staying slightly outside the city center can also yield significant savings.
