Overview
Bangladesh is one of the most affordable destinations in South Asia, with very low costs for food, local transport, and budget accommodation. Street food and local restaurants are exceptionally cheap, and rickshaws or buses keep transit costs minimal. The main cost drivers for international travelers are mid-range and upscale hotels in Dhaka, where demand pushes prices higher than elsewhere in the country.
Notes
Use CNGs (auto-rickshaws) and local buses instead of app-based taxis to dramatically cut transport costs, and eat at local dhabas or street stalls where a full meal rarely exceeds a dollar or two.
