Overview
Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the most affordable destinations in Europe, with prices significantly lower than Western or even most Central European countries. Sarajevo and Mostar are the priciest cities, but even there costs remain very modest by international standards. Food, local transport, and accommodation represent excellent value, making it a favorite among budget-conscious travelers.
Notes
Eating at local buregdžinicas (pastry shops) and ćevabdžinicas for traditional dishes like burek and ćevapi can keep meal costs under $3-4; also, using minibuses and shared taxis between cities is far cheaper than private transfers.
