Overview
Bulgaria is one of the most affordable destinations in Europe, with costs significantly lower than Western European countries and even most of its EU neighbors. Food, transport, and accommodation are remarkably cheap, especially outside of Sofia and the Black Sea resort towns. The main cost drivers for travelers are ski resort areas like Bansko in winter and coastal resorts in summer, where prices rise considerably.
