The Dominican Republic is a moderately affordable destination in the Caribbean, though costs vary significantly depending on whether you stay in all-inclusive resorts (which can distort perceived value) or explore independently. Punta Cana and Santo Domingo tend to be pricier than rural or lesser-visited areas, and imported goods, tourist-area restaurants, and water sports activities can push budgets higher.
