Consider staying in nearby Nice or Menton on the French Riviera, where accommodation can cost a fraction of Monaco's prices, and commute into Monaco by train or bus — the cross-border bus and rail connections are cheap and run frequently. Eating at one of the few boulangeries or casual cafes near the Port area rather than tourist-facing restaurants can also significantly reduce daily food costs.
