Getting around
Turkey has high-speed trains (YHT) linking Istanbul, Ankara and Konya, but comfortable long-distance buses are the backbone of intercity travel, with budget domestic flights speeding longer trips. Istanbul has an extensive metro, tram, funicular, ferry and bus network on the Istanbulkart, and apps like BiTaksi and Uber (which dispatch taxis) help with rides.

Tipping customs
