Overview

Morocco uses the dirham, a closed currency you generally can't obtain until you arrive in the country.

Exchange tips

Exchange on arrival at banks, bureaus or airports (rates are fairly uniform). Keep exchange receipts to convert leftover dirhams back when leaving.

Notes

Carry plenty of small notes for the medina, taxis and tipping. Don't take dirhams out of the country.
