Getting Around Singapore
Overview
Singapore has one of the world's best public transport systems — clean, punctual, air-conditioned, and covers virtually the entire island.
Metro
MRT with 6 lines covering the whole island. Runs 5:30am–midnight. Fares SGD $0.92–2.54.
Bus
Extensive bus network reaching areas the MRT doesn't. Same EZ-Link card works on buses.
Taxi
Metered taxis available citywide. Surcharges apply during peak hours and from the CBD.
Rideshare
Grab dominates. Gojek is also available. Usually cheaper than taxis.
Bicycle
SG Bike and other rental apps. Cycling paths are expanding but road cycling requires caution.
Walkability
Very walkable in the CBD and tourist areas. Covered walkways protect from rain and sun.
Travel card
EZ-Link card (works on MRT and bus) or Singapore Tourist Pass (1/2/3 day unlimited travel).
