Transport to city center

AirTrain to Jamaica then E/J/Z subway: ~75 min, $8.75 total. AirTrain to Howard Beach then A subway: ~60 min. Taxi: $70 flat rate + tolls/tip.

Delta Sky Club (T4, excellent), AA Flagship Lounge (T8), Centurion Lounge (T4), numerous lounges across terminals.

Security & customs

Arriving international travelers clear US Customs and Border Protection — use Mobile Passport Control or Global Entry to skip lines. Standard 100ml (3-1-1) liquid rules apply at TSA security; consider TSA PreCheck for faster screening. Terminals are not all connected airside, so allow time and use the AirTrain for connections.

Travel tips

AirTrain + subway is the best value. Flat-rate taxi to Manhattan ($70 + tolls/tip) is stress-free. Allow 3+ hours for international departures.
