Overview
Manchester Airport is the largest airport in the UK outside London and the main gateway to northern England. It offers a broad mix of domestic, European, and long-haul intercontinental flights. It handles tens of millions of passengers each year.
Transport to city center
A dedicated rail station connects the airport to Manchester Piccadilly in about 15–20 minutes, with trams, buses, and taxis also available.
Wi-Fi
Free WiFi is available throughout the terminals.
Lounges
Multiple lounges operate across the terminals, including airline and Aspire pay-in lounges.
Security & customs
ePassport holders from eligible countries can use the automated eGates. The UK is outside the EU, so standard customs allowances apply; the 100ml liquid rule is being eased at upgraded scanners but check before you travel.
Travel tips
Check your terminal carefully and allow time to walk between them via The Station concourse. Pre-book security fast track and parking during busy periods.
