Overview
Václav Havel Airport is Central Europe's fourth busiest airport, handling 17+ million passengers. A well-organized airport with two interconnected terminals, strong links to the city, and a new metro line under construction that will provide direct rapid transit by 2028.
Transport to city center
Bus 119 to Nádraží Veleslavín, then Metro A to centre (40–50 min, CZK 40 — 90 min ticket). AE (Airport Express) bus direct to hlavní nádraží main station (35 min, CZK 100). Uber: CZK 400–600, 25–40 min. Bolt is cheaper. Licensed airport taxis: CZK 500–700. No direct metro yet — planned for 2028.
Wi-Fi
Free unlimited WiFi at Václav Havel Airport — connect to the airport network; no time limit.
Lounges
Czech Airlines Business Lounge (Priority Pass eligible), No.1 Traveller Lounge, and several Priority Pass options in both terminals.
Security & customs
EU/EEA passport holders and eligible ePassport travelers can use the automated eGates. Standard EU 100ml liquid rules apply at security. The Czech Republic is in Schengen, so intra-Schengen flights skip passport control; use only the official taxis or Airport Express to avoid overcharging.
Travel tips
Always use Uber, Bolt, or the pre-paid taxi counter — unofficial taxi drivers at Prague airport are notoriously exploitative. The metro + bus combination is slow but cheap. The airport is compact and efficient — 90 minutes is plenty for check-in and security.
