Overview

Houari Boumediene Airport is Algeria's largest and busiest airport and the main hub for Air Algérie. It is the principal international gateway to the country.

Terminals

The airport has a modern Terminal 1 for international flights and additional terminals for domestic and regional services. The newer terminal is spacious and well-equipped.

Transport to city center

Taxis and buses connect the airport to central Algiers along the coast. A rail link also serves the airport area.

Lounges

Air Algérie and premium lounges operate in the international terminal.

Travel tips

Carry your visa documentation and some Algerian dinars for taxis. Currency import declarations may be required.

Airport Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is available in the terminal, though it may require registration.

Security and arrival

Customs may ask you to declare foreign currency on arrival. Keep your passport, visa and forms organized for immigration.
