Murtala Muhammed International Airport (LOS)

Lagos, Nigeria

Overview

Murtala Muhammed International Airport is Nigeria's busiest airport and the main hub for travel in West Africa. It is a base for several Nigerian carriers and handles the bulk of the country's international traffic.

Terminals

The complex has an international terminal (MMA1) and a separate domestic area including the privately run MMA2 terminal. A newer international terminal building has added capacity.

Transport to city center

Taxis and ride-hailing apps reach Lagos Island and the mainland, though journeys can be very long during rush hour. Pre-booked airport transfers are the safest option.

Lounges

Several lounges operate in the international terminal, including airline and pay-per-use options.

Travel tips

Use only official or pre-arranged transport and keep valuables out of sight. Allow plenty of time as Lagos traffic is notoriously congested.
