Overview
Palau is one of the more expensive destinations in the Pacific, primarily because nearly all goods including food and supplies must be imported, driving up prices across the board. Accommodation and diving/snorkeling excursions are the biggest cost drivers, with dive trips often running $150–$200+ per day on their own. Budget travelers will still find it difficult to spend less than $100–$130 per day once mandatory fees, transport, and basic meals are factored in.
Notes
Book dive packages in advance through your accommodation or a dive resort to get bundled discounts, and consider self-catering some meals using grocery stores like WCTC to significantly cut daily food costs.
