Seychelles is one of the most expensive destinations in the world, driven by its remote island location, heavy reliance on imported goods, and a tourism model that caters predominantly to luxury travelers. Accommodation is the single biggest cost, with even budget guesthouses commanding relatively high prices, and food and activities add up quickly. Travelers on a tight budget will find options limited but possible on Mahé and Praslin, while most visitors should expect to spend significantly more than other tropical destinations.
